HHK Partner Steve Herman and Judge Karen Herman Receive 2019 Advocacy Award for Breastoration

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and everyone at HHK has either had a relative, friend or fellow employee who has experienced breast cancer. On Monday, October 7, 2019, HHK partner Stephen J. Herman and his wife, Judge Karen Herman, were sponsors of Galatoire’s Goes Pink, a Brestoration fundraising event. The Breastoration organization works to assist women who are considering breast reconstruction surgery in the Greater New Orleans area. In 2016, Breastoration led the charge for the Louisiana Legislature to pass a breast reconstruction insurance coverage bill that assures every phase of surgery chosen by a breast cancer patient and her physician is covered by health insurance.

Steve and Karen have been benefactors for this cause for several years. Last year they opened their home for a fundraiser benefitting Breastoration. At the Galatoire’s Goes Pink event the couple were honored with the 2019 Advocacy Award for Breastoration.
