Partner Russ Herman has been named a 2012 Peoples Health Champion for his exceptional accomplishments after age 65. Russ was recognized at the Saints vs. Falcons home game on Sunday, November 11, 2012. The Peoples Health Champions program was created by Peoples Health, in collaboration with the New Orleans Saints, to recognize the exceptional achievement of New Orleans locals age 65 and older.
Nominated by his peers, Russ was chosen for his involvement in the New Orleans community as well as for his major accomplishments in the legal community. In the years since turning 65, Russ and the firm have brought Big Tobacco to justice, fought for thousands of homeowners against manufacturers of tainted Chinese drywall, helped business and property owners find relief after Katrina, and negotiated a $9 million fund with Johnson & Johnson for health services to be provided in under-served communities of Greater New Orleans devastated by Katrina.
Though his career spans more than 5 decades, Russ’ recent accomplishments have helped set national precedent and have had a strong impact on the New Orleans legal community. As a true Peoples Health Champion, Russ has reached his own personal milestones and has helped others by reaching professional milestones.
