The staff and attorneys at HHK once again decided to forego giving gifts to each other during the holidays and to instead share our blessings by giving to one of the many worthy local charities. This year, the charity we selected was the New Orleans Ronald McDonald House (RMH-NO). The house, located on Canal St. in Mid-City, is a home away from home for children receiving medical treatment that also provides programs that give comfort, compassion and care to the children and their families.
With the contributions by the attorneys and staff which were matched by the HHK partners, the firm was able to buy nearly every item on the Amazon wish list created by the New Orleans Ronald McDonald House which was filled with all of the necessities needed in the house. We were also able to buy toys for the children currently staying there and games for the families to enjoy in the days to come. The remaining money was given in a donation to the New Orleans Ronald McDonald House.
After such a great effort, on Friday, December 20, 2019, the HHK team headed out to the Ronald McDonald House to deliver the toys, make the donation, and bring festive cupcakes made by our own master-baker, Kelly Macready. We were thrilled to see the kids and the environment where our contributions would have an impact and spread holiday cheer.
We want to thank Jennifer Wilson, Family Services and Programs Manager, Marianne Addy, Executive Director, and Sierra Fisher, Family Services Coordinator, for working with us, filling the Amazon wish list with all of the RMH-NO needs, and welcoming us into the house. Our family at HHK appreciate making a difference in people’s lives and spreading the true meaning of the holiday spirit.
